Platelet Factor 4 (PF4) May Play Central Role in Brain Rejuvenation

In multiple separate papers published in the journals, Nature, Nature Communications, and Nature Aging, researchers have virtually simultaneously identified the the apparent central role of Platelet Factor 4 (PF4) in the rejuvenation of brain tissue. This newly identified property of PF4 appears to be related to its beneficial effect on the local immune environment. Treatment with PF4 in older mice resulted in improved cognition and lower inflammatory markers.
