Advances in Regenerative Dentistry

Published 2020-10-10

A recent collaborate research between Sweden's Karolinska Institute, the University of Vienna, Austria and Harvard University has been able to decipher the differentiation process of odontoblast cells. Immature odontopblasts ultimately give rise to the diversity of cells found in adult teeth. Utilizing RNA sequencing and genetic tracing in murine model allowed the researchers to characterize the lineage of all cells found in mature teeth. The study is published in the September edition of Nature Communications.
