Progress in Biodegradable Hydrogel Stem Cell Delivery
Published 2020-02-11
Researchers from the department of Biomedical Engineering at Texas A&M University published a study on the successful use of Microporous Annealed Particle (MAP) hydrogels as a Stem Cell delivery platform. At a specific biodegradation rate, MAPs provided the proportional space required for Stem Cell growth and engraftment. Cell-binding proteins were attached to the MAP's spherical microbeads as the adhesion method, which in turn also influenced degradation mechanics. The study is published in the January edition of Acta Biomaterialia.
