New Findings in Cell Senescence Research

Published 2019-07-26

In a recent journal article published in the Journal of Biological Chemistry, researchers from the USC Viterbi School of Engineering published their research on cell senescence. The research using human epithelial cells discovered that the inhibition of cell nucleotide synthesis appears to a primary feature of the process of cell senescence. Epithelial cell exposure to telomerase prevented cells from the inhibition of nucelotide synthesis. The published work appears to contribute significantly to the understanding oh the cellular mechanisms of cell senescence and the aging process.
